Lower Hawksbill Loop Trail-SNP - Register by Sept 9

7:15 PVMC Parking Lot (Carpooling) 7:30 Depart for Shenandoah National Park (SNP) 8:30 Restroom break Big Meadows Visitors Center 9:00 Trailhead at Hawksbill Gap parking area (Mile 45.5) 11:45 Lunch at Big Meadows Lodge or Wayside Destination: The Hawksbill Summit Platform is the highest point in the SNP, Time Required: +/- 5.5 hours including lunch, Challenge Level: Moderate, plus short segments of trail damage, Elevation change: 800 ft. Distance: Loop hike total 2.9 miles, Other: Snack at Byrd Nest Shelter or at the summit platform and lunch at Big Meadows (SNP) on our return to Harrisonburg. Recommend hiking poles, hiking shoes, water, snacks and $ for lunch. Return to PVMC Parking Lot +/-1:00 PM
