Volunteering for Meals on Wheels
About this event
Valley Village members volunteer each Thursday to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound older adults.
Volunteers use their own car to pick up and deliver meals on an assigned route. Members find it rewarding to make contact with these clients on a weekly basis, noting that even this bit of connection seems important to many.
We are proud that Valley Village has been able to expand Meals on Wheels delivery to a third day each week!
Members may opt to volunteer on a weekly basis, or share a route with someone every other week, or to fill in when someone can't make it.
New drivers receive a short orientation to the program.
Meals on Wheels is run by Valley Program for Aging Services.
