Shroud-Makers Group
The Shroud-makers group gathers regularly to make their own shrouds. Many Valley Village folk have expressed interest in natural burial options in the area. One of the requirements for natural burial is to have a fully biodegradable shroud in which to wrap the body. While that can be accomplished with a simple cotton or linen sheet, the Shroud-makers gets together to create a shroud to fit their body, and reflect a bit of their personality.
The Shroud-makers group researches requirements, makes or finds a pattern, constructs/sews the piece and embellishes it with biodegrade paint, ink, embroidery thread, whatever works. Along the way there may be discussion about dying and death and how being aware of our death actually enhances our lives in the present.
The schedule of meetings is up to those joining the Shroud-makers.
